Detailed Description Fox Hill-Botoaia (eye steppe)

Fox Hill-Botoaia (also known as the steppe of the eye) is a protected area of national interest that corresponds to the category IV IUCN (a natural floristic type), located in the administrative territory of Neamț County of the city of Piatra Neamț.

Natural area with an area of 2 hectares, is located in the eastern part of the city of Piatra Neamț, on the southwestern slope of the Hill Fox (478 m), at an altitude of between 370 and 420 m, on a soil type Brown forest degradation (typical chernozem cambic and argilodiluvial). Ellipsoid in shape the direction NW-SE and is located in the vicinity of the county capital about 1 km southeast of it. 

The River from secular with an area of 44 hectares has established a protected area for only 2 ha, the natural reservation being declared with law No. 5 of 6 March 2000 (approving the plan for the national landscaping-section III-protected zones).
 
Here grows more items by their steppe xerophyte illustrated in  28 specific species, including colilia (Stipa stenophyla) 's Fescue (Festuca valesiaca), mannoproteins interact (Polygala major), sânzienele (Galium vernum), and a species belonging to the family Ranunculaceae, known under the popular name of Adonis vernalis (Adonis vernalis).
 
The vegetation of the regions fall forest area (1st floor of deciduous forests with oak and beech) forest (with accompanying species from steppes) and Steppenwolf (Steppenwolf meshes). Primary meadows that falls under layout consists of the Dacian province, euro-siberian and central region. Items with net euro appereance have interfered in different stages of historic with central European elements, with a small number of Mediterranean elements and Carpatho-Balkan.
