Detailed Description Dacian fortress Petrodava

The oldest historical monument is the city of Piatra Neamt mount Batca Doamnei in Romania situated in the South-western part of the town on the crest of a spur at an altitude of 457 m where he represents the last extension was built to the North of the mountain fortress, where Lady came towards Bistrita also a stronghold close to the Valley, what it defended by near-vertical slopes from the East. Access to the fortress is made through a narrow şea you climb slowly towards Mrs. Nathan, just like a bridge.

Considered one of the most interesting and ancient fortifications of Moldova commented, this powerful fortress still hides plenty of mysteries that wait to be discovered. Although there have been several periods in which there have been systematic excavations that we put in front of the existence of a settlement belonging to the eneoliticului (Fcm), bronze (Monteoru culture), Dacian Citadel (sec. I i. a.d.-a.d., and a feudal settlement (XII.), ruins of the fortress are still accessible only.

The archaeological material discovered shows two levels of living of which belongs to the most important Dacian era. During this period there was an important military Center here and proved by the presence of the two aliamente of the stone drums what indicate two shrines similar to those discovered in the Dacian cetătile Orastie mountains. At the same time, were on the West side of three terraces that are necessary for large living area of the town, and on the northern side was erected a palisade of 6 m high for the settlement.

Of the objects discovered in this archaeological site belong to numerous pottery fragments of d, iron tools and weapons, Greek and Roman imports objects of ornament, but also a beautiful oenochoe from gilded bronze. Another important aspect of the history of the Dacian Citadel from Ku is that Ms has been identified with the hypothetical Petrodava, mentioned by the Greek geographer fortress Ptolemy (III, 8, 4). It seems that this fortress beside the fortress on Citadel Hill and Remmy Cozla from Piatra Soimului represented a larger defensive system, designed to monitor the Bistrita Valley.
